Prep work makes light work!

In a week or two, families will be out in the blueberry fields at Holiday Memories Farm, enjoying a fun day at the farm. What they don’t see is owner Gary Palmer and his protege Ryan Ross working tirelessly behind the scenes leading up to the family excursion.

For farmers like them, it’s a seven-day-a-week job all year long to get everything ready for visitors.

With blueberries reaching peak ripeness soon, Gary and Ryan have their hands full for the rest of the year, all the way to Christmas trees in the winter. Despite the hard work, it’s a labor of love for these two.

“When I see families walk through the berries with their young kids and you can see that big smile – that’s my best day,” says Gary Palmer. “That’s truly my best day.”
